20 Porsches and more to hit open track day

Bahrain International Circuit will have the honour of welcoming the Riyadh
Porsche Club to the Open Track Day being held all day today.

As part of this, speed fanatics will get the opportunity to drive their own cars
on the award winning circuit, which has seen all the top racers including
Schumacher and Massa steal first place on the 5.4 kilometre track.

The Riyadh Porsche Club, led by circuit friend Fawaz Al Gosaibi, will also be
pushing their 20 cars to the limit on the track.

Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Operating Officer at BIC, was delighted
at the news that the club would be using the venue to test their cars and looked
forward to their participation on the track. He also highlighted that this was a
great indication that the events being hosted at the circuit were attracting
people from all across the GCC, and placing Bahrain firmly on the motorsports
world map.

Shaikh Salman also added that the Open Track Day was open to all motorsport
enthusiasts and speed lovers who wished to feel the thrill of taking their car
or motorbike to the limits. In an opportunity of a lifetime, everyday drivers
will get the chance to feel like racing drivers for a whole day.

This chance to race on a world-renowned track will be available to all those
daring enough for either a full day or a half day on the circuit. The package
will also include safety and driver technique briefings, as well as
demonstration laps by an instructor. Prices vary with 50 dinars for a half day
(from 9am – 12.30pm) or 75 dinars for a full day (from 9am – 5pm). Biker boys
can saddle up and be prepared for an adrenalin-fuelled day on the track for only
75 dinars.

Those wishing to participate can turn up to BIC with their private vehicles and
register upon arrival. Alternatively, they may call the BIC hotline to book in
advance on +973 1745 0000.
