BIC, Sakhir:
The BIC, home of motor sports in the Middle East, has officially kick-started
its press accreditation procedures for the upcoming 2008 Gulf Air Grand Prix,
due to take place this April.
With the Bahrain Grand Prix being only a few weeks away, this will be the third
race of the 2008 Formula One season.
The accreditation process is necessary for all local and regional press members
who would like to gain access to various areas, general and restricted, to cover
the Formula One race from the 4th to 6th of April, 2008.
Media members who fulfil the FIA criteria and guidelines – which are universal
to all F1 hosting circuits – will be awarded a permit for the most prominent
event to take place at the BIC, Bahrain and the Middle East.
The procedure will require members of the press and media to complete the
accreditation forms available from the BIC Public Relations Department or the
BIC website, and provide all specified paperwork with their application before
the deadline on the 5th March, 2008. FIA rules state that no applications will
be accepted after this date.
Applications are being accepted by PR Executive Mohammed Al-Awadi who will be
leading the accreditation process and tending to media-related issues as he
takes on the role of National Press Officer during the F1 race weekend.
Since the opening of the BIC four years ago, the Media Centre has welcomed over
500 journalists and photographers to cover the annual race, and is ready to
welcome many more.
