Chinese Diplomats pay BIC a visit
BIC, Sakhir:
With various ongoing visits to the BIC by guests from across the globe, the
circuit had a delegation of Chinese diplomats grace the circuit with a fleeting
visit, yesterday.
Headed by Zhao Feng, Commercial Attaché to the Economic and Commercial
Counselor’s Office at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Saudi
Arabia, the delegation was taken on a tour of the circuit and its facilities
whilst being given an understanding of the various events that it hosts all year
round.
Accompanying the visiting official was the wife of First Secretary Wang
Shuangxin, from the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office at the Embassy of
the People’s Republic of China in Bahrain.
To greet the five visiting diplomats was Public Relations Executive Mohammed
Al-Awadi who led the tour and gave the group a brief history of the circuit, its
beginnings, the many races that are hosted on-site and where it stands today.
Following this, the Chinese diplomats were taken to various facilities at the
premises including Al-Sakhir Tower roof, where they had the privilege of seeing
over 80 per cent of the track.
At the end of the tour, the delegation expressed their gratitude and showed
their warmest appreciation for the tour around the state-of-the-art facility
which did more than impress them.
