First General Test Day a Great Success

30/1/2005: Bahrain International Circuit opened its doors to the first of its General Test Days at the weekend. Underlining the importance of the venue and its geographic location in the Gulf, BIC is an attractive venue for competitions and car enthusiasts to gain valuable driving experience and above all have a great day out with the soul love of their lives cars!

General test session will be arranged on a regular basis and take the format of a 20 minute briefing - covering the rules of the circuit, flags, lights, overtaking and what to do in the event of mechanical failure. A question and answer session follows. A brief scrutineering session checks the mechanical suitability of the vehicle. Friday’s event witnessed Porsche, Nissan 3502 and Mazda RX7. Track sessions are divided up into morning and afternoon from 9:00 to 12.00 and 13:00 to 16:00.Depending on numbers taking part drivers are free to do as many laps as they want. Drivers are welcome to bring along family members on the day. They can be taken on a tour of the facilities and watch the action from the stands. Food is available as is the Bahrain International Circuit merchandise Pitstop shop.
