New Facilities for Spectators at Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

9/2/2005: Spectators at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on April 1,2 & 3 will be treated to a number of new initiatives designed to make the Grand Prix and the day at the circuit easier and more enjoyable.

New tarmac walkways have been installed between the Grandstands and the Formula One Village behind the Main Grandstand and shuttle buses will run continuously between the Grandstands and the F1 Village. Additionally, spectators in the University Grandstand will now be able to park in their own car park directly adjacent to their seats. New toilet facilities have been installed in the Grandstand areas as well.

To allow all spectators to get a better view of the racing, eight new Giant Screens have been installed ?¢â‚¬â€œ three of them directly opposite the Main Grandstand on the roof of the Pit Lane. During non-Formula One practice, qualifying and race spectators will also be treated to a new visual development at the circuit called Fan TV. Fan TV will be produced and broadcast on the giant screens, as well as on the circuit’s own radio channel, with interviewers and camera crews mingling with the F1 teams, entertainment activities and race fans.

This year the F1 Village behind the Main Grandstand will be transformed with grass areas, palm trees and new seating areas. Most importantly there will be new coffee shops and outdoor eating areas. The food and beverage concessionaires have been improved over last year to ensure that people get what they want to eat and drink, when they want it and without having to wait. In addition there will be new Water Stations dotted around the entire site.

Many more entertainment ideas are also being implemented designed to make the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix much more of a family day out. More about the new entertainment will be announced shortly.
