Porsche herd stampedes from Saudi

Manama, 3rd February, 2008 – BIC, Sakhir:

Over 30 Porsches were seen making their way to BIC this weekend, some from as
far as Saudi Arabia, to take part in the Open Track Day.

Drivers came down from the all-new Riyadh Porsche Club, headed by club president
Fawaz Al Gosaibi, to participate in their first-ever club event, which saw a
superb turnout.

Porsche racers got to drive alongside members of the Bahrain Porsche Club, as
well as many other bikers and drivers, on the award-winning track.

Al Gosaibi expressed his delight at seeing such a great turnout for the club’s
first event, and highlighted that it made it all the more exciting hosting it on
one of the most prestigious circuits and venues in the region. The drivers were
ecstatic to be on the track at BIC in their own cars. The added bonus of meeting
the Toyota technical team, who are here in preparation for the F1 testing
sessions prior to the start of the Formula One season, made the day a certainly
memorable one.

The club president went on to thank the staff at BIC for their great welcome and
hospitality they received upon their arrival. He added that the level of
organization and great care that went into providing a safe and secure
environment meant that the racers could enjoy their adventure-packed day.

In turn, Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa was thrilled that the Riyadh Porsche
Club members for making their way over, and was pleased to see that the drivers
had been part of a great first club event, and an even better racing experience.
He also stressed that BIC was doing all that it could to reaffirm its position
as the fun, safe and exciting place to be for motor sports in the Middle East.

At the end of the event, Shaikh Salman went on to thank the Riyadh Porsche Club
for making BIC their venue of choice for their first-ever club event, and
highlighted that its doors are open to all those wishing to participate on the
world-renowned circuit any time, any day.

Open track day gives aspiring race drivers and motor sport enthusiasts the
chance to race on the award-winning track for a full day or a half day. Those
wishing to partake can enjoy a day which includes safety and driver technique
briefings, as well as demonstration laps by an instructor. Prices vary with 50
dinars for a half day (from 9am – 12.30pm) or 75 dinars for a full day (from 9am
– 5pm). Biker boys can saddle up and be prepared for an adrenalin-fuelled day on
the track for only 75 dinars.

Those wishing to participate can turn up to BIC with their private vehicles and
